How To Make A Planter Made Out Of Floppy Discs

There's a good chance that you have a bunch of useless floppy discs lying around, either at your parents' house or in a box in your basement. Instead of throwing away these discs, you can choose to use them for something more useful. It's very easy to turn floppy discs into planters.

1. Get Your Materials

The first step is to get the materials that you need. First, go to an art store and pick up a hot glue gun and some glue sticks. If you don't have scissors, purchase a pair of scissors at the craft store as well.

Next, make sure that you have enough floppy discs. For each planter, you are going to need to use five floppy discs. If you don't have enough, you can go to an online retailer and purchase them for a very cheap price.

Finally, get the plants that you want to put into the planters. The easiest way to do this is to choose plants that are already in small plastic pots. Talk to your florist for more details.

2. Assemble the Planter

Next, you are going to assemble the planter. Heat the glue so that it is able to be applied. Then, apply a line of glue to the edge of one of the floppy discs and attach another one to this line of glue so that it is perpendicular to the original disc. Put a line of glue on the side that is parallel to the side you originally applied glue to. Put another floppy disc on this line of glue so that it is perpendicular to the original disc and parallel with the first disc that you attached.

Put a line of glue on the opposing side of each of the discs that have been attached to the original disc and put another floppy so that it is parallel with the original disc. You should have created a four wall box.

Finally choose which area of the box you would like to be the top and glue a disc to the opposite side so that you have a cube with five sides, the sixth side being open.

3. Put in the Pots

Take your plants that are already in the small plastic pots and put the pots into the planter. If the plastic pots peek out above the top of the planter you made, use your scissors to cut off the top of the pot so that it doesn't peek out.

Water your plants and you're good to go!
